Sacred music is an essential aspect of worship that spiritually energizes our congregation. As commanded by Christ, we are to sing to one another in song and hymns, and to do it to the best of our ability. Our goal is not to entertain or to draw attention to the performers; rather, we seek to provide music that will lead the worshiper into closer communion with God and the Spirit, music that puts the focus on God, not ourselves. We seek to provide music that is relevant and contemporary, while at the same time recognizing the wonderful tradition of sacred music we have as our heritage. We are continually seeking to improve this aspect of worship and encourage those who are gifted in this area to consider making the music ministry a part of their Christian walk by speaking with the director of music at Mainstreet Christian Church.
