Bible Study
All adult members of the church are invited to attend our Bible Study group, meeting at 7pm on Wednesday nights. For the remainder of 2009, the group will be studying the subject of Discipleship in depth, with the aid of the DVD series - 'Personal Disciplemaking' by Chris Adsit of Disciplemakers International, followed by small group discussion and study. Please join us at seven pm sharp for this important learning opportunity. It's not too late to join!
COURSE SCHEDULE
Section 1 - Let's get something straight
Getting a firm grap of the basic Biblical concepts involved in disciplemaking. YOu may think you know what the bible says about disciplemaking, but this section may surprise you. These four sessions form the foundation of the entire course. (4 sessions)
Section 2 - Nuts and bolts of disciplemaking
What attitudes and activities do I focus on as a disciplemaker? What's really my job? What's the church's job? The Holy Spirit's job? What factors optimise spiritual growth? (4 sessions)
Section 3 - Setting the stage for need-oriented disciplemaking
Wondering what to cover when you begin a disciping relationship? How about focusing on an area in which the Holy Spirit is working - scratching them where they itch. This section will teach you how to find the itchy places. (2 sessions)
Section 4 - Covering the fundamentals
When we're done with this section, you'll have a number of very practical ideas about how to establish a young disciple in what most disciplemakers agree are the twelve most important areas of need. (12 sessions)
Section 5 - The Big Picture
Practical instructions regarding a long-term, in-depth disciplemaking approach that will form the next phase after covering the 12 Newborn Care Training Objectives; also key disciplemaking tips gathered from 160 Christian workers from all over the world. (2 sessions)
